Senate House Passage
A pedestrian passage beside the Senate House linking the end of Trinity Lane back to Trinity Street.
Senate House Passage is a pedestrian route that leaves near the end of Trinity Lane and leads back out to Trinity Street. Caius (Gonville and Caius College) lies to the north, with the Senate House to the south. It is a short walk, but it ties together the street pattern around the Old Schools.
Where it fits
The passage lies at the end of Trinity Lane. The lane starts at Trinity Street and heads west past Trinity College, whose Nevile's Gate is on the northern side, while Caius is opposite. It then bends south behind Caius, with Trinity Hall on the west. At the far end, Clare is on one side and the huge chapel of King's closes off the route southwards.
To the east are the Old Schools and, beyond them on King's Parade, the Senate House, which hosts degree ceremonies. The Old Schools are now the University's central administrative offices.
