A1309 Road
A 6.5-mile route linking the two ends of the A10, running as Milton Road in the north and Trumpington Road in the south.
The A1309 is a route of about 6.5 miles that ties together the two ends of the A10 on opposite sides of Cambridge. It used to be part of the A10 itself, before the western bypass (now the M11) and the northern bypass (now the A14) were built.
Milton Road
At the northern end the A1309 begins at the Milton Interchange, where the A14 and A10 meet. From there it heads south as Milton Road, passing the Cowley Road Park and Ride, Cambridge Business Park and Cambridge Science Park before reaching the Mitchams Corner gyratory just north of the centre. Work to rebuild the Milton Road stretch started in November 2022.
Through the city
The number is not shown in the centre. It picks up again in the south, following the A1134 ring road as Trumpington Road and then Trumpington High Street. In Trumpington it crosses the A1301 and passes the Trumpington Park and Ride, finishing at Junction 11 of the M11 and the A10.
At the city end, a roundabout where Elizabeth Way meets Milton Road splits the A1134 from the A1309. Victoria Road also feeds into Milton Road, just north of Victoria Avenue Bridge.
