The Old Ticket Office sits inside Cambridge Railway Station, with outdoor tables on the square in front. It opened in June 2018 as the seventh Cambridge venue of the City Pub Company, a group since folded into Young's.

The pub closed temporarily on 5 September 2026 and is due to reopen by 30 October 2026, so check before you go.

The pub

Inside, the decor plays on railway-bar styling, and a live departures board hangs over the door so that a pint need not mean a missed train. The bar pours cask ales and rotating craft beers alongside ciders, wines, spirits and soft drinks. A bottle shop sells beer to carry out, and a canning machine can fill cans from the draught lines. Food ranges from snacks and sandwiches to pub meals, and kitchen times are posted on the website. In 2019 the Cambridge & District branch of CAMRA named it New/Most Improved Pub of the Year.

Coffee on the platform

A hatch facing Platform 4 serves coffee daily until 7pm, with bacon or sausage baps from 7am to noon. That makes it a useful stop for commuters as well as for people arriving in the city.

Practical notes

The pub opens at noon. Kitchen service runs 12pm to 3pm and 4pm to 7:45pm Monday to Saturday, and 12pm to 7pm on Sunday. Closing time is earlier on Monday and Sunday than on other days.
