Revolution is a cocktail bar and restaurant at 3-8 Downing Street. The site was once an estate agency. In the late 1990s Scottish & Newcastle turned it into a pub that traded as the Rat & Parrot, and it was later extended into the neighbouring building and rebranded as a branch of the Revolution chain.

Bars, music and food

The venue describes itself as five distinct bars, with a rooftop bar for sunny days. By night the company advertises resident DJs, areas that can be reserved, and private karaoke pods with a catalogue of over 45,000 songs. According to CAMRA's branch, you drink at street level in the main bar, and the upper bars do not always admit the public. Food is served daily, running to 21:00 on most evenings, with a happy hour on cocktails and house beer from 17:00 to 22:00 from Sunday to Friday.

Practical notes

Opening hours on the website are 12:00 to midnight from Monday to Thursday and 12:00 to 03:00 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Bookings go through the website, and the phone number is 01223 364895. OpenStreetMap lists the outdoor seating and notes limited step-free access, so wheelchair users may want to phone ahead.
