Bar-OH
A table-service cocktail bar on Downing Street with free retro consoles and board games.
Bar-OH is the cocktail bar at 20 Downing Street, beside the entrance of the Hilton hotel though run as its own business. The premises have changed identity several times. Quinn's Irish Pub traded here for about two decades before closing in March 2017; a venue called Roguery Brew Project followed in 2019, mixing coffee, cocktails and haircuts; and the present bar took over in spring 2023.
What it is like
Drinks come to the table, served in unusual glassware and decorated with sharks. Retro consoles and board games are free to use, and the bar's own tagline promises robots and occasional sharks. Two floors are open to customers. Live music comes from a resident band or visiting acts, and the bar's weekly calendar names an open-mic night on Mondays, a keys night on Wednesdays and a plug-and-play session on Sundays.
Practical notes
Doors open at 16:00 every day and close at 01:00. Booking is possible through the website, and the bar says walk-ins are welcome; arrive on time and there is a small treat.
