St Faith's School
A co-educational prep day school on Trumpington Road for ages 3 to 13, founded around 1884.
St Faith's takes children from 3 to 13 as an independent day school, standing on Trumpington Road. The school's own website splits it into a Pre Prep for ages 3 to 7 and a Prep for ages 7 to 13, with a page on its approach called A Tailored Education.
History
The school dates from about 1884. Until the 1990s most of its classrooms were in converted Victorian houses. A large red-brick building called Ashburton opened in 1999, and it takes its name from the Devon town where children were evacuated in the Second World War. A sports centre followed in 2011, and a STEM building called The Hub opened in 2018.
Engineering and the foundation
St Faith's introduced engineering as a core subject from Year 3 and won a TES Independent School Award for the initiative in 2018. The school's website also lists a partner school in South Africa, a section on sustainability and a page for the Fidelian community of former pupils.
St Faith's shares a foundation with The Leys School, which stands further north along the same road. The two schools share a Latin motto, "In Fide Fiducia".
Practical notes
Visits, open mornings, entrance paper samples and fees are on the admissions pages of the school website.
