The Copper Kettle sits at 4 King's Parade, directly across the road from King's College and its chapel. Its own website dates the business to the early 1900s and describes a tea room that once spread over two floors, with students, tutors and visitors all part of its story.

The menu

Today the place describes itself as a mix of traditional café and Mediterranean cooking, and it trades under the name Agora at The Copper Kettle in some listings. The kitchen opens at 8am every day with a breakfast menu, then moves onto an all-day menu with daily specials, and there is a separate dessert menu. Breakfast, lunch and dessert are therefore all covered by the same kitchen.

Practical notes

The restaurant takes group bookings and special-occasion reservations; the website invites enquiries through its contact page, or you can phone 01223 308448. There are no published closing times, so check ahead for evening plans. It is in the heart of the city centre. Menus are posted on the website as separate breakfast, all-day and dessert pages, so you can read what is on offer before you arrive.
