The Prince Regent is a Greene King pub at 91 Regent Street. Greene King's website calls it a traditional pub restaurant, welcoming to families and dogs. Over the years the old arrangement of separate rooms has been knocked into one open space, with raised areas flanking the front entrance and some seating around the bar.

Garden and conservatory

A large conservatory was added at the back and leads on to a paved area with garden tables, which the pub's page promotes as a place to sit out in the sun. CAMRA's local branch records a refresh in 2014 that left the layout alone. At its 2016 survey the bar had four handpumps, serving Greene King ales plus beers from the company's guest list, and OpenStreetMap notes two guest ales as well.

Food, sport and practical notes

Menus run to steak and ale pie, scampi, salads and macaroni cheese, with a Sunday roast. The kitchen serves from noon to 21:00 every day. Football, rugby, F1 and darts are shown, and seats at big fixtures can be booked online. Doors open at noon daily. It shuts at 23:00 from Sunday to Wednesday and at midnight from Thursday to Saturday. Free Wi-Fi is available, and the phone number is 01223 505030. OpenStreetMap records step-free access as available.
