Cambridge Science Centre
A hands-on science museum for children aged 4-13, in the Trinity Centre on Cambridge Science Park.
Cambridge Science Centre is a hands-on science museum aimed at children aged 4 to 13, with younger children welcome. It is a charity and also runs STEM in Wisbech. The Cambridge centre is in the Trinity Centre on the Cambridge Science Park, on Milton Road in the north of the city.
What is inside
The gallery has more than 20 hands-on, open-ended exhibits that visitors explore at their own pace during a two-hour session. Alongside the gallery there are science shows, Lab Bench challenge activities and an open Work Bench. In October 2026, shows ran twice a day, at 11:15 and 14:15, and the Lab Bench challenges at 10:15, 11:15 and 15:15.
A short history
The centre was the first interactive science museum in Cambridge. The first premises, on Jesus Lane, welcomed visitors from 8 February 2013. That exhibition space closed in December 2016 so that the centre could relocate, and in the meantime it ran pop-up events under the name Street Science. It reopened in April 2018.
Practical notes
In October 2026 the centre was open to the public from 09:00 to 16:00 on Saturdays and Sundays in term time, and every day during school holidays. It follows the Cambridgeshire County Council term dates. All sessions must be pre-booked, including for annual members. Parking at the centre is free, on a first-come, first-served basis. Children must be supervised by a responsible adult. Booking and opening dates are on the centre's own website.
