Outspoken Cycles (Eddington)
A bike shop and workshop at Eddington, known for cargo bikes, repairs and short-term hire.
Repairs and test rides can be booked online, which saves a wasted trip.
Outspoken Cycles runs this shop at Unit 3, Eddington, and describes itself as a proper local bike shop built on expertise and trust. The firm has two shops in Cambridge, one here and one on Cowley Road, and a newer shop in Norwich. This page covers the Eddington branch.
Bikes
The company says it knows cargo bikes especially well, and the Eddington page lists family cargo bikes in two and three wheel versions designed to carry shopping, children and pets. The range runs on to e-bikes for commuting and travel, hybrids for city streets and country trails, and kids' bikes from the Ridgeback and Frog brands. The shop says it stocks only products it believes in, at prices held steady through the year. Test rides can be booked online.
Repairs, hire and courses
A workshop handles repairs and services, with an online booking system and updates on progress. Standard bikes can be hired privately for up to two weeks, which the shop pitches as a way to build confidence or to equip visiting family and friends. The firm also lists one-to-one courses and basic maintenance sessions, and supports the cycle to work scheme.
Practical notes
The shop is open Monday to Friday from half past eight until five, and on Saturday from half past nine until half past four. Sundays are not covered on the page, so assume it is closed.
Booking repairs ahead is the usual route, and the shop can be reached by phone on 01223 658130.
