Logan's Meadow is a small local nature reserve, 1.1 hectares or about 2.7 acres, on the bank of the River Cam in the east of Cambridge. Cambridge City Council owns it and manages it with the City Greenways Project. Its reserve status dates from 2005, and access is from Logan's Way.

What lives here

The site is pasture, and in the warmer months it supports tortoiseshell and comma butterflies. Cow parsley and cuckoo flower are among the plants recorded. In autumn, starlings roost in the trees, and the neighbouring river holds freshwater mussels, so the reserve combines grassland, trees and water within a very small footprint.

Visiting

Because the reserve is so small, it suits a short stop rather than a full day out. It can be a pleasant addition to a riverside walk along the Cam,. There is no charge and no stated opening times in the sources consulted.

Other open spaces on the east side of the city include Midsummer Common and Coldham's Common.
